POD SERIES 

The Pod Series emerged from a period of profound personal loss following the passing of my father. As I sorted through a lifetime of collected antiques, tools and forgotten objects, drawing became a quiet way to process grief and make sense of an unfamiliar world.

Night after night, circular forms began to appear instinctively in my sketches, eventually evolving into the distinctive characters that define the series.

 

Initially, these sculptural forms reflected aspects of my father - his ingenuity, curiosity and belief that every object held untapped potential. Over time, they developed personalities and narratives of their own, becoming symbols of memory, resilience and renewal.

 

Constructed from reclaimed materials and treasured artefacts, each Pod gives new life to objects once carefully kept aside with the familiar sentiment, "You could use that for something."

 

The series celebrates that philosophy, transforming inherited fragments of the past into works that honour remembrance, creativity and the enduring connections between people, objects and the stories they carry.
