BERRY SERIES

This small series of works was my first real attempt at abstract assemblage. The intention of these works was to focus on the direction, texture and especially colour of the selected objects and create these smaller-scaled works to be contained within their glass cloches. This series glassware was purchased in Berry, New South Wales, a small historic town known as the first proper country town south of Sydney. For this reason and the colourfulness of the works, I always referred to them as the 'Berry Series' and the name remained.
