MISCELLANY SERIES
The Miscellany Series was a challenge I set myself, each work was completed over the course of one week. With this series I wanted to push myself into almost complete abstraction, in some works: to play with colour as the dominant focus, in others: form, line, shape or texture. My intention was to create the illusion of kinetic energy, for each piece to be assembling itself from the inside out and back again.
This series was very freeing, and the eighteen weeks spent in their creation was a fantastic exercise for my own art practice and instilled in me the need and desire to ‘put in the hours’ each week in the studio. Fun – pure, simple fun.
